VALU 1991 - SVT exit poll survey parliamentary election 1991

In connection with the elections in 1991 the first Swedish exit poll survey was carried out. Voters leaving the polling stations were asked to fill in a questionnaire with questions on: party voted for in the general and local elections; party voted for in the general election 1988; time for decision how to vote; placement on a political left-right scale; confidence in Swedish politicians; occupational group and union membership; prime minister if a bourgeois government; church attendance. The respondents also had to indicate how important a number of items was for the decision how to vote.
Purpose:
Provide analytical support for the election night broadcast on Swedish television during the election night, and for other post-election analysis.
