National monitoring program for non-indigenous species (NIS), Sweden 2024
https://doi.org/10.15468/CKCFFA
This project reports genetic data from the non-indigenous species (NIS) monitoring program in Sweden in 2024, as commissioned by the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management, SwAM. The data were collected and submitted by Seanalytics, www.seanalytics.seOpens in a new tab in collaboration with University of Gothenburg. Sampling locations were situated in ports and marinas along the Swedish coast, including the Bothnian gulf, the Swedish West coast and Southern coast. Three types of samples (water samples, plankton samples, hard bottom samples) were collected during two seasons - late spring and late summer. Species were identified using COI metabarcoding. The dataset includes ASVs (amplicon sequence variants) and their associated metadata. Field protocols are documented in Sundberg et al (2024) DNA-baserad övervakning av arter i akvatisk miljö - verifiering och tillämpning. Naturvårdsverket rapport. pp 44. Rapport 7157. ISBN 978-91-620-7157-8 and Sundberg et al (2022) Genetic methods in environmental monitoring: Early detection and monitoring of non-indigenous species based on DNA. Report to the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management 2022:4. ISBN: 978-91-89329-32-4.
