U19014 Disability and Disease during the 1918 Influenza Pandemic: Implications for Preparedness Policies
https://doi.org/10.17197/U19014
The aim of the project is to investigate disability as a risk factor for infectious disease, drawing on experiences during the 1918 influenza pandemic.
The project involves demographic and statistical analyses of data to determine whether people with disabilities were at greater risk of infection and/or mortality during the pandemic. It will also use quantitative and qualitative data to construct a simulation model for testing hypotheses about disease spread and potential interventions.
